The world is full of idiots.
2 :
ha ha ha "I have proof - search youtube". Brilliant. Why? Because they're bored. Because they're lazy. Because their stories are made up (hey, I reckon option 3 is the most likely).
3 :
they feel that islam makes more sense to them.
4 :
Because people change, and sometimes their spiritual needs change with them and they may find a different religion. I (and any other person, for that matter) have no right to judge them.
5 :
They're not. A priest on you tube is not " so many..."
6 :
Trust me!!!! they are doing it for MONEY..................Not for faith!!
7 :
anyone who sincerely converts to Islam with all their hearts, are being guided by Allah and have had the truth revealed to them..
8 :
well the preists go cause they know that all muzzie men are pedos and it is totaly legal in islam......moohamed married a girl when she was 6 and had sex with her when she was 9. this thighing thing you muzzies are crazy about whats that then?
9 :
I think it's a comfort thing. People convert to Islam and all they really have to do is go from thinking that Jesus is the Son of God to thinking that he was a major prophet on the level of Moses. Once they've got that down, the main differences are in details and nuances. I mean, both religions share many of the same principles and almost of all the same patriarchs. And, honestly, who cares whether Abraham's promise was carried through Isaac or Ishmael? Either way, Abraham would still be "the father of many nations".
10 :
Youtube can not be considered a creditable source of information. People have converted from various religions to various religions, but this does not validate any of them as being true.
11 :
"So many?" That's laughable.
12 :
personally i know two baptizers converted to islam and i know why http://www.55a.net/
13 :
Because they are more knowledgeable about their religion and find out the truth. They find out that christianity has been corrupted over the years and that christianity foretells the coming of Islam.
14 :
NObody who compares the Quran with the New testament would pick the Quran for the Gospels are morally and spiritually much higher, as far as I can read in my own comparison In Muslim countries many Muslims secretly convert to Christ and His spiritual freedom but are hidden because of death punishments
15 :
Well they aren't real christians to begin with. And they were lost before, and remain lost. If they stay mohammedan they will "die in their sins" as Jesus said. That is not a happy place to be when one faces God at the Judgement. How can Mohammed be a prophet of God with so many sins, unrepented of and unforgiven ? Believing him to be a prophet shows that humans are not very perfect and are unfortunately easily deceived.
16 :
Because when u they find their lives in a mess of confusion..they probably feel LOST...their religion is just too corrupt and superficial ..it doesn't satisfy their curiosity of life...and God...they find that the ingredients of TRUTH and SENSE are missing....that is the reality of Christianity is its too illogical...the idea of a human god...is by far the most ridiculous conclusion any human can ever make... i believe these priests...have discovered what they were looking for and what is missing in Christianity...and all that lies in ISLAM.. if a Priest discovered Islam so can you!!!!!!!!

Why doesn't the Vatican let go of their stranglehold on historical books in their library

Why doesn't the Vatican let go of their stranglehold on historical books in their library?
Isn't that selfishness to an immoral degree, to hide these works from the world?

Of COURSE! If they "can't" produce the book, then they MUST have it, right?
2 :
They will hold onto anything that they feel will distract from the Biblical canonized teachings with the idea that it will confuse and tear the sheep from the pasture of the Master. My Opinion only! Rev. TomCat
3 :
They are hiding something, I think.
4 :
Because they know that said books may fracture their religion.
5 :
They don't hid books away. As a grad student of Medieval history, I have spoken to several professors who have researched in the Vatican Archives. They all have told me that they have such a massive quantity of texts from different ages that they are poorly organized. In truth, the Vatican has no idea of what they actually have. Hence, every ten years or so, a scholar finds something ground breaking. The truth is, they are no different than any national archives. I mean, when was the last time you did research in the national archives of France of England? What do you know about it? The Vatican Archives are completely open to scholars who make appointments. Guess what, if you want to do research in the Royal Archives of Spain, you need to be a scholar and you need to make an appointment. My guess is, you know nothing of academic research. You have been reading too much Dan Brown. Here, this is a website created by people within the Catholic Church and it gives you access, for free, to most documented texts the Church has. Although, it wont be much good to you if you cant read Latin. But thats your problem. http://www.documentacatholicaomnia.eu/a_1010_Conspectus_Omnium_Rerum_Alphabeticus_Littera.html

Why let confusion destroy your faith. In the same token if you are still searching for God then you have already strayed. There is literature everywhere. You just need to search for it. Ask God in prayer to show you clues, and you will find him. I tell you this by experience. I was once confused. I searched everywhere for him. I seached on the internet. I watched television shows. Every book I could get a hold of I read. Keep strong in your faith. If you don't believe what you are being told, again I say ask God to give you the clues.

Both the Vatican Library and the Vatican Secret Archives are open to qualified scholars for study. No one is turned away because they are not Catholic. Vatican Libarary: http://asv.vatican.va/home_en.htm + Qualified researchers and scholars from around the world, particularly professors and researchers from universities and other institutions of higher education, and other learned persons known for their writings and scholarly publications, are admitted without distinction of race, religion, origin or culture. http://www.vaticanlibrary.vatlib.it/BAVT/info/vaticanlibraryfiles/rules.pdf Vatican Secret Archives: http://asv.vatican.va/home_en.htm + The Archives are open to qualified Researchers from institutions of Higher Education pursuing scientific researches and who have an adequate knowledge of archival research. http://asv.vatican.va/en/fond/amm.htm With love in Christ.

Did the Catholic Church assist in Nazi hidings

Did the Catholic Church assist in Nazi hidings?
Is it true that the Vatican accepted gold/art work in return for the safe haven of Nazi officers in Argentina? Anyone else have an opinion on the matter? I just heard this recently so I'm interested in the historical relevance of it.

Sounds pretty likely to me.....the Catholic Church is one of the most corrupt organizations ever!
2 :
Why don't you conduct some real academic research from reputable sources instead of asking for people's non-objective opinion? Do you really think you will get accurate historical information on a forum like this?
3 :
To my greatest surprise it apparently did. You can find more information in Wikipedia (search for Ratlines).
4 :
so did the Red Cross. a spokesman for the Red Cross said, "it's our duty to help people, not judge them". i saw a photo of , i think it was Martin Bohrman's passport......issued by the Vatican. one of my best friends is Catholic... he lent me a book on Catholic (and Luthern) involvement in WW2 Germany. most Catholics are probably unaware of this. my friend, Jim, is . he is fighting for church reform, including more involvement in human rights, and efforts to promote world peace.
5 :
Yes, the Catholic Church has done some pretty un-Godly things.
6 :
Ask for proof. Catholics- at the direction of the POPE- gave shelter to many Jews, often risking their own safety. Many Jewish men and women were hidden in convents and monasteries, the children in orphanages. The Popr even gave up his home in Castle Gandolfo to be used as a sanctuary.

How rich are the people in Vatican city

How rich are the people in Vatican city?
There are still starving children in the world. Is the staff the pope holds real gold? Those rings people wear in vatican city look expensive. The art work must be worth millions. Why cant they just be like good ol' mother Teresa?

They have enough swiss bank accounts to have swiss guards.
2 :
I don't know, but most of the people there are priests. Also, the Vatican bankrupted itself by helping WWI refugees and victims.
3 :
The art work is priceless. The amount of money the Vatican has is astronomical. I'm not sure how they work that out spiritually...I'm sure they reason it out by saying they send people like Mother Theresa out to help these people. I personally couldn't justify it. But to stay a world power, you need to have money and influence...which they have.
4 :
Too rich...
5 :
Well they sure have more money than me. I agree, they are so worried about poverty in the world, yet they have all sorts of materialistic items. It seems a bit odd.
6 :
I sort of agree BUT hey, let's face it, that saying about "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach him to fish feed him for life" is really true. If you go pay to see the papal collection in the Vatican, they can take the profits and feed starving children. If they sell those antiquities they'll only feed so many kids for a fixed length of time.
7 :
The Pope doesn't own that staff. No one does. And all the money that the people give on Sundays doesn't actually go to the Pope. You should really learn how the RCC works when it comes to their property.
8 :
Do you want them to be begging for money in he streets also? I don;t get what point your trying to make, they help ou those people, but you can;t expect he pope to help them all out What about the President, George Bush, why is he living in such a big white house, when there are starving children in the US?
9 :
Yeah all that extravagance doesn't seem to be in harmony with what Christ taught.
