Do you think that the Vatican is experiencing a recession like the rest of the world
Do you think that the Vatican is experiencing a recession like the rest of the world?
The Vatican has it's own money, so I'm trying to figure out how does it fair in comparison to the rest of the world concerning our recent recession? Does their money revolve around the Euro? Edit: Economically speaking how does it work for the Vatican? Are they self sustaining?

If the US is experiencing economic hardships, then the Vatican is as well.
2 :
Of course not; the Vatican sells the most profitable and recession-proof merchandise--->beliefs
3 :
Vatican is supposed to follow christ, who was a mendican and usually mendicants will never face any recession; so Vatican never felt the recession because the poor people of the world, the real followers of christ never felt any recession and will never feel any recession in future also. Of course superrich people only feel recession whereas the vast majority of people, who live below povery line never feel any economic difficulty because they never had enough money to eat a meal per day.
4 :
no they are not on recession like the rest of th world they have a lots of historical stuff that is worth millions plus they have caves of gold, they are immensely rich , i'm going to over exaggerated the pope and their crew eats with spoons and forks of gold
5 :
I don't think so. They just jacked their prices to the Vatican Museum up to 14 Euro per person, 18 Euro if you want a reservation without waiting in line...multiply that by 3 million visitors a year...not bad hey?
6 :
Vatican has insulation from recession.

Can a woman be pope or work in the Vatican
Can a woman be pope or work in the Vatican?

No to the pope, yes to working in the Vatican.
2 :
women can't even be priests, much less Pope. The Catholic Church is an archaic and very sexist organization.
3 :
A woman cannot be pope because religion is in the dark ages and runs rampant with sexism along with hypocricy and corruption. However a woman CAN work in the vatican..I've seen maids and stuff.
4 :
Women cannot be pope, but women can and do work in the Vatican.
5 :
Years ago there was a Pope Joan.
6 :
Work in the Vatican? Yes Pope? No To become the Bishop of Rome one must be: 1. Male 2. A baptized Catholic. And no there has not been a "Pope Joan". There have been numerous rumors of "female popes" which usually surface when there has been scandal in the church or concerning the church. I know the Calvinists in the 16th century propagated this idea as did the Napoleonic French. There's no evidence of there ever being a woman in the "seat of Peter" as they say.
7 :
No woman can be pope because a woman cannot be ordained to the priesthood. There are lots of women working in the Vatican.
8 :
No women can not be priest or the pope in the Church. They can however, work in the Vatican. In fact numerous women work in clerical positions in the Vatican. The church still holds to the biblical principles of the priesthood.
9 :
No and yes. Women do work in the Vatican. At this time, no women are ordained in the Catholic Church. + Ordination of Women + WWJD? What would Jesus do? The Catholic Church currently teaches: The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry. The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible. For more information see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1577: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2chpt3.shtml#1577 With love in Christ.
10 :
According to scripture women can not be preachers. You can call this sexist but its the truth. In the Jewish culture women and children was considered second class citizens. Every description given in the Bible of what a priest or rabbi should be describes a man. Thus this is the stance of the Catholic church. God Bless!

Does the Vatican accept the work of Talmudic scholars regarding Historical Jesus
Does the Vatican accept the work of Talmudic scholars regarding Historical Jesus?
That they are most likely to have historical records of a Jewish person living in Palestine under Roman rule.

Nah, they would only accept stuff that confirms the gibberish about Jesus they made up long ago.
2 :
Unlikely the church is too busy covering up for the child molesters in the priesthood
3 :
the romans were good record keepers.
4 :
Who cares
5 :
Your first question should be whether the Talmud actually talks about Jesus according to Talmudic scholars. The following website gives an interesting discussion on whether it does. The author's conclusion is that it doesn't. http://www.angelfire.com/mt/talmud/jesusnarr.html
